If you’re going away for Easter, then travelling with kids can be a headache. Many of us spend hours thinking of different things to take for the children to do and play with to keep them entertained. Of course the electronic gadgets – laptops, ipads , tablets, phones, leapfrog leappad etc… are often top of the list, but what alternatives are available to keep them amused?
Below is a list of some things to remember to take for a hassle free trip.
Car Journey Games In A Tin
Keep the kids entertained and avoid arguments in the back of the car with these car journey games.
Art Supplies
When I travel I always carry colouring books, crayons, pencils, stickers, notebooks etc… Wordsearches, Sudoku and crosswords are also a great shout, especially for older kids.
Travel games
I particularly like the magnetic or fold out travel games – They are compact and designed so you won’t lose any pieces.
Card Games
A pack of playing cards is so versatile and well worth taking on a journey. Top trumps and Plop Trumps are also very popular and kids seem to love them.
Books
a good novel, magazine or comic will keep kids quiet. For younger children take a couple of their favourite picture books along with a couple of new ones.
Travel Pillows
A must have if your journey is a long one and you want to encourage the kids to have a sleep. Pillow pets are wonderful travel companions, but if space is limited the smaller pillow heads may be a better option.
Also remember to take snacks & drinks
You never know if you get delayed, or stuck in a traffic jam. Hungry, thirsty kids are unhappy, irritably kids. You definitely don’t want that, so pop some healthy snacks and drinks in your bag. The Tyrrell Katz range have some lovely kid friendly snack boxes and leak proof drinks bottles. And don’t forget the wet wipes!
So happy holidays and happy travelling! And please remember to drop us a line when you get back…..
